I can remember the first saw what it would be like to know how to hypnotize someone. When I was in high school, one day a year the school held an event called humanities fest that lasted the entire day. We were able to choose four activities that we would participate in for the day. In each activity, a professional would come and talk to the students about his or her profession.

The first activity I chose to go and see was the hypnotist. I had never thought about what it would be like to hypnotize someone, but it sounded interesting. When I first saw the hypnotist I was very skeptical that this man would be able to hypnotize someone. I would soon be proved very wrong.

By the time the volunteer had counted down from ten to three, he was in a trance and under total control of the hypnotist. The boy then proceeded to imitate a cat, dog, and a number of other animals. After the hypnotist brought him out of the trance, the boy did not remember anything. I'm sure he was later embarrassed when his friends filled him in. I was so impressed by the hypnotism that I needed to learn how to hypnotize someone.
